Hamilton Sundstrand to Provide Control System for Pratt & Whitney PurePower(TM) Engines

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW, FARNBOROUGH, England, July 14
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United
Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), was selected to provide the control system
and accessories for Pratt & Whitney PurePower engines that will power the
Mitsubishi Regional Jet, Bombardier CSeries(TM) and Cessna Citation(R)
Columbus(R).

Hamilton Sundstrand will supply the control system — including the
electronic, fuel, pneumatic and thermal management systems — for the
PurePower PW810C engine and the PW1000G engine, which was formerly referred
to as the Geared Turbofan engine. Pratt & Whitney PurePower engines are
setting new standards for fuel efficiency, engine noise, environmental
performance and low operating costs.

fuel burn, environmental emissions, engine noise and operating costs.”

The PurePower PW1000G engine is the exclusive power for the new
Mitsubishi Regional Jet and the proposed Bombardier CSeries. Both aircraft
are scheduled to enter service in 2013. The PurePower PW810C engine is
scheduled to enter service on the Cessna Citation Columbus in 2014.
