OTTAWA, CANADA–(Marketwire – Aug. 19, 2008) – Mxi Technologies announced today that the Maintenix® software has successfully gone live as the maintenance and engineering system for the entire fleet of aircraft managed and supported by the Seattle-based Derivative Airplane Programs (DAP) business unit of Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. The intelligent, integrated software solution will provide DAP with meaningful improvements to labor productivity, leading to reduced costs, improved asset reliability and increased mission readiness; ultimately enabling cost-effective support for customers. The project, which consisted of three phases, was completed on time and within budget.

Supporting a variety of operational mission requirements, DAP provides derivatives of commercial airplanes and associated support systems to the U.S. government to meet Executive and Operational Aircraft (EA/OSA) requirements including cargo, passenger, and executive transportation. The DAP fleet comprises aircraft such as the C-32A, derived from the 757-200; and the C-40A, B and C, all derived from the Next-Generation 737-700 Boeing Business Jet.

With integration to “SONIC II”, Boeing’s procurement and supply chain system, Maintenix automates all major support functions across the organization and allows DAP to benefit from extensive management reporting capabilities, optimized employee workload and inventory leveling, the ability to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and to provide reports to the customer, and improved compliance to industry regulations. Through these features, Maintenix enables DAP to achieve improved productivity, reduced costs, improved asset reliability, and increased mission readiness.

“The role of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is becoming increasingly prevalent in after-market services and sustainment, and we are seeing a shift in business models,” said Les Hine, President of Mxi Technologies. “With DAP, we believe that Boeing is continuing its leadership in redefining and reshaping the way defense industry partnerships and contracts are structured, and Mxi is delighted to be involved with such a high caliber project.”
