Iberia Mantenimiento y SR Technics Alcanzan Sendos Acuerdos Para El Mantenimiento Reciproco De Motores y Componentes

Iberia Mantenimiento y SR Technics han alcanzado sendos acuerdos para el mantenimiento mutuo de motores y componentes. Es la primera vez que ambas empresas trabajan juntas en esta área de actividad.

Según estos acuerdos, SR Technics se encargará de la reparación y mantenimiento de motores CFM56-5C de la flota Airbus A-340/300, complementando los trabajos que realiza Iberia para esta misma flota en sus instalaciones. Por su parte, Iberia se encargará de la reparación y mantenimiento de componentes de SR Technics correspondientes a distintas flotas.

SR Technics proveerá los servicios de mantenimiento en su Centro de Motores de Zúrich, mientras que Iberia hará lo propio en sus instalaciones de La Muñoza, en el aeropuerto de Madrid-Barajas.

“Es la primera vez que alcanzamos un acuerdo de motores con Iberia, y estamos encantados”, afirma Gerry Timoney, vicepresidente de los Servicios de Motores de SR Technics. “Esperamos que este contrato sea el inicio de una relación larga y satisfactoria con Iberia”.

Para J. Ignacio Díez Barturen, director comercial y de desarrollo de Iberia Mantenimiento, “este acuerdo nos permite seguir creciendo en el mantenimiento de componentes a terceros con este importante socio”.

SR Technics And Iberia Maintenance Conclude Reciprocal Engine And Component Services Agreements

SR Technics and Iberia Maintenance have concluded reciprocal contractual agreements covering engine and component services. The new accords mark the partners’ first-ever collaboration in these fields.

Under the new agreements, SR Technics will provide repair and overhaul services for the CFM56-5C engines of Iberia’s Airbus A340-300 fleet, supplementing the airline’s own work on these powerplants at its own facilities. In return, Iberia Maintenance will repair and overhaul SR Technics components from various aircraft fleets. The services covered by the new reciprocal accords will be provided at SR Technics’ Engine Service Centre in Zurich and at the Iberia Maintenance Component Center at Madrid’s Barajas Airport.

GE AND IBERIA SIGN MOU FOR SERVICES AGREEMENT

GE Aviation and Iberia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for Iberia to become the preferred regional fulfillment center for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of CFM56-5A engines within Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Under this agreement, GE Aviation will contract with Iberia for MRO services on CFM56-5A engines operated by customers in the region. Iberia will enter into an OnPoint solution agreement with GE for material & services to be used in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the CFM56-5A engines.

“Iberia is a well established MRO provider,” said Tom Gentile, vice president and general manager of GE Aviation’s Services organization. “The MOU and subsequent OnPoint solution material agreement will allow CFM56-5A customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East to have their engines repaired by Iberia and have access to the same high-quality OEM spare parts and repair offerings that GE Aviation can provide.”

 IBERIA SE CONVERTIRÁ EN EL CENTRO REGIONAL PREFERENTE PARA EL MANTENIMIENTO DE MOTORES CFM56-5A

GE Aviation e Iberia han firmado un Memorando de Entendimiento (MOU) para que Iberia se convierta en el centro regional preferente para el mantenimiento, reparación y “overhaul” de los motores CFM56-5A en Europa, África y Oriente Medio.

Según este acuerdo, anunciado hoy en el marco de la celebración del MRO Europe, GE Aviation contratará a Iberia para los servicios de mantenimiento, reparación y revisión de los motores CFM56-5A de sus clientes en esas regiones. Iberia entrará en un convenio “On Point” con General Electric para repuestos y servicios que se utilizará en el mantenimiento, reparación y revisión de los motores CFM56-5A.

“Iberia es un proveedor de mantenimiento reputado”, dice Tom Gentile, vicepresidente y director general de la organización Servicios de Aviación de General Electric. “Este MOU y los subsiguientes acuerdos “OnPoint” permitirán que los clientes de los  motores CFM56-5A en Europa, África y Oriente Medio puedan reparar sus motores con Iberia y  que tengan acceso a los mismos repuestos de alta calidad del fabricante original del equipo, al igual que a los servicios de reparación que GE Aviation provee”

El director general de Mantenimiento e Ingeniería de Iberia, Manuel López Aguilar, declara: “La firma de este acuerdo representa un gran paso hacia adelante en la estrategia de Iberia Mantenimiento para convertirse en uno de los líderes de los proveedores de servicios de mantenimiento de motores. Ser un miembro de la red de GE demuestra que hemos alcanzado los más altos niveles de calidad, de eficiencia y de servicio al cliente. Éste es el compromiso de Iberia con sus clientes y con GE”.

“El acuerdo representa un nuevo paso en la fructífera relación a largo plazo entre GE e Iberia Mantenimiento, iniciada hace muchos años. El contrato del CFM56-5A será el primer proyecto de una cooperación profunda que pude ampliarse en el futuro a otros productos de la familia de motores CFM y GE. Como parte de este acuerdo, Iberia Mantenimiento continuará sus inversiones en nuevas tecnologías, en la mejora de procesos y procedimientos. El objetivo de ello es mantener nuestra competencia y aumentar la satisfacción de los clientes”, añade López Aguilar.

Pluna update: Launches nonstop to Asuncion

As the airline struggles with the government and unions over the cancellation of its Madrid service, on September 15 it began four-time weekly nonstop service to Asuncion from Montevideo. At the same time it eliminated stops in order to fly nonstop to Cordoba and Rio de Janeiro, while maintaining nonstops to Rosario and Curitiba. It has signed code share agreements with Iberia and several others are in conversation. The regional hub is working, and with codes sharing on long haul routes the airline should be successful.

 

AEA reports South Atlantic continues be where the action is

The Association of European Airlines (AEA) reported its July traffic statistics which have the South Atlantic (as usual) leading the world with RPKs up 11.8% compared to 1.2% for the system total. 12 months ended in July has RPKs up 11.4% for a total system growth of 3.9%. Martinair adding service to Bogota and Quito

As a result of the growing demand for flower exports from Colombia and Ecuador, the passenger and cargo airline is adding a weekly flight between Bogota and Quito and Europe in January 2009. The new flights will bring the total operated between both markets and Europe to eight flights weekly in each case.

JetBlue is providing six ERJ190s to David Neeleman’s Azul in Brazil

As the airline slows its fleet growth, it announced that it is providing six Embraer ERJ190s to David Neeleman’s Brazilian startup, Azul. Two of the aircraft will be leased directly by jetBlue while four are being sold to Jetscape, which will then lease them to Azul which is launching its domestic service in December.
