Pratt & Whitney Canada and Aviall Sign JT15D Spare Parts Distribution Agreement

ORLANDO, FLORIDA–(Marketwire – Oct. 6, 2008) – NBAA 2008 – Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) and Aviall Services, Inc. have signed an agreement under which Aviall will supply new P&WC Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spare parts to JT15D engine clients around the world. Pratt & Whitney Canada is a United Technologies (NYSE: UTX) company.
“This global distribution agreement with Aviall will allow us to leverage their broad distribution network to continue to support our clients with the world-class customer service they have come to expect from P&WC. It will also allow us to more effectively manage our inventory and supply chain across our entire service centre network,” said Maria Della Posta, Vice President, Customer Service, P&WC. “It is part of our ongoing strategy to increase our responsiveness and be No. 1 in customer service.”
Aviall Services, the primary subsidiary of Dallas, Texas-based Aviall, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA), distributes aviation products to aircraft operators, commercial airlines, and general aviation and marine customers. “We are delighted to be joining forces with Pratt & Whitney Canada to deliver world-class spare parts distribution service to JT15D operators,” said Paul Fulchino, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Aviall, Inc. Aviall Services will begin providing JT15D spare parts to P&WC customers around the world in the first quarter of 2009.
The JT15D engine family has captured a wide range of aircraft applications, with more than 6,500 engines produced. Members of the engine family are in service with nearly 1,800 operators in 80 countries.
Pratt & Whitney Canada, based in Longueuil, Quebec, is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines powering business, general aviation and regional aircraft and helicopters.
