Sierra Aeronautica of Brazil Strengthens Its Market Leadership for Helicopter Sales

SAO PAULO, Brazil, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ — Sierra Aeronautica, a market leader in Brazil for helicopter sales, customizations, and consulting, increased its market penetration in 2008 by partnering with Texas Aviation Services. The two companies have generated mutually record-high backlogs of new completions sales chiefly for “V-VIP” helicopters, with end users that include some of the largest corporations in Brazil. Sierra has placed Bell, Agusta, and Eurocopter models with a dozen clients so far through December 2008, with more orders pending for 2009. On the eve of “Heli-Expo,” the rotorcraft industry’s giant annual convention in Anaheim, CA, Sierra’s CEO Marcos Braga said: “Our Brazilian helicopter clients have exceptionally high quality standards, and the team of Sierra Aeronautica with Texas Aviation Services is delivering a beautiful product. In fact, we are actually delivering an A-139 V-VIP executive helicopter AT the Heli-Expo show, on Monday Feb 23 at 1pm inside the Anaheim convention center.”

Given the continuing growth of the Brazil market for helicopters and aircraft technical services, Ranger Rotorcraft Group, Inc. (parent company of TAS) is considering more aggressive expansion to serve customers in the region, perhaps including a substantial industrial investment in the Sao Paulo area, joint ventured with Sierra Aeronautica and other Brazil partners. TAS is a Brazilian “ANAC” certified repair station. Helicopters that are delivered from Texas to Brazil are already registered and approved by the Brazilian aviation authority, without the delays normally found with typical entry and customs procedures.
