Colombia expects FDI in 2009 to exceed $10 billion

Colombia’s minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Luis Guillermo Plata, announced to the media in Bogota that Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) will exceed the 2008 record of $9.7 billion in 2009; the objective for 2012 being $12.5 billion. He also insisted that Colombia has not and will not be impacted by the global economic crisis and plans to insist on signing the FTA with the United States in the near future.
