As Sebastian Piniera announced that he is thinking about selling his 27% stake in the Chilean “model airline”, there have been a number of rumors about the future control of the airline, since Piniera and the Cueto’s jointly control the carrier. For the record, Ignacio Cueto, General Manager of the Latin American Network “model airline”, announced this week that the family will continue to control the carrier regardless. One of the possible buyer’s of the Piniera group’s equity is the Luksic Group, which is already a partner with the Cueto family in the mining company, Antofagasta Plc.
