President Felipe Calderon has announced a major economic program to include a number of specific recovery plans for tourism and business in general to recover from the impact of the Swine Flu which he believes is now under control. He has asked his cabinet to design a recovery program which will help Mexico to offset the negative impact of both the flu epidemic and the world financial crisis. Tourism will play a major role, which last year received US$13 billion from tourist expenditures in the country. He plans to include stimulus programs for the cruise industry which serves the Mexican market as well as other tourism players.
