MILWAUKEE, May 11 /PRNewswire/ — Derco Aerospace, a Sikorsky Aerospace Services company, has acquired an L-100-30 aircraft, serial number 5225, from Frameair NVG, Curacao. Sikorsky Aerospace Services is the worldwide aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The acquisition of this aircraft further establishes Derco as a source for well-maintained L-100/C-130 aircraft. The acquisition took place following the successful inspection of the aircraft by Lockheed Martin-approved repair facility Sabena technics, a subsidiary of TAT Group. With the revalidation of the aircraft’s airworthiness certification and official aircraft transfer to Derco, the aircraft is immediately available for sale to the worldwide L100/C130 community.

With only 118 L-100-30s produced for the civil market, this aircraft is uniquely suited to operate as either a commercial or military platform because of its payload capacity and spacious cargo compartment. The aircraft has been well maintained by its single owner.

“We are pleased with the successful collaboration between Sabena technics and Derco Aerospace to bring this well-maintained aircraft to market,” said Brian Holt, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Derco Aerospace. “This aircraft has extremely low flying hours and provides potential buyers with the opportunity to expand their C-130 or L-100 fleets without the cost associated with acquiring a new aircraft.”
