EVENDALE, OH — July 9, 2009 — Aircraft Purchase Fleet Limited (APFL),
a new aircraft leasing company, has selected GE’s CF6-80E1 engines to
power its 12 firm and eight option Airbus A330 aircraft. The firm engine
order is valued at more than $400 million at list price. Deliveries will
begin in 2010.

APFL, fully controlled by the Italian Toto Group (former owner of the
airline Air One until December 2008), was incorporated at the end of
2008 and has been assigned the purchase agreements, formerly executed
between Airbus and Air One in relation to more than 100 aircraft to be
delivered within 2018.

APFL has selected GE Aviation as its engines supplier for the A330
aircraft because the advanced technology and the high reliability of the
CF6-80E1 engines.

With more than 400 engines in service, the CF6-80E1 engine continues to
attract customers with more than 40 CF6-80E1-powered A330 aircraft on
order.

GE remains committed to the CF6-80E1 engine and continues to invest in
technology improvements for the engine. These advancements, along with
proactive maintenance and operational procedures, have increased the
engine’s restored time on wing from 1,500 cycles to 2,500 cycles in the
last four years, representing a 67 percent increase.

In 2006, GE launched the Tech CF6 program, which incorporates advanced
technology into the high-pressure turbine (HPT), combustor and
high-pressure compressor (HPC) areas. The new HPT technologies include
airfoil-cooling advancements that are now standard on all new CF6-80E1
production engines. These turbine advancements improve performance
retention over time, which lowers overall fuel burn and corresponding
CO2 emissions.  The CF6-80E1 also meets the stringent CAEP6
international regulations for emissions such as hydrocarbons, smoke, and
oxides of nitrogen with margin.
