Southwest aiming for Europe and South America for long haul flights

Speaking at the Routes Development Forum in Beijing last week, the airline’s Director-Network Strategic Planning, Lee Lipton, stated: “Europe and South America are our first choice to open international routes, but we are still evaluating our options.” Southwest’s CEO said last month that the LCC is seriously considering operating international flights to Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean as soon as 2011.
