ICG SIGNS CONTRACT TO INSTALL THE ICG NXTLINK 120A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND CONFIGURATION IDENTITY MODULES ON AEROMEXICO’s BOEING 767-300s

June 3, 2010

Newport News, Va. –(June 2, 2010) – International Communications Group
(ICG) has been selected by AeroMexico Airlines to install its NxtLink ICS-120A
communications systems which offer flight deck voice and DataLink services over the
Iridium satellite network on five of its Boeing 767-200 and 300 series aircraft. The ICG
Iridium based systems have been tested and approved by ARINC and SITA and are
compliant with the requirements for both AOC and ATS flight deck communications and
support ACARS, CPDLC and other FANS1/A messaging. The agreement also covers
the associated Configuration Identity Modules (CIM) and Spectralux Avionics Dlink+ allin-
one ACARS system.
ICG holds Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Parts Manufacturer Authority for
the single channel NxtLink 120A and the CIM which means “AeroMexico can be fully
confident in the quality, reliability and consistent performance of the ICG NxtLink
system,” said Carlos Monsalve, ICG’s Vice President of Air Transport Sales. “In addition,
this is a significant milestone for us since it signifies that now ICG has STC’s for its
NxtLink line of Iridium products on the B737, B747, B757, B767 and the B777.”
“Our evaluation of this system concluded that it gives us the capabilities we
require now, and the flexibility to configure for future needs as well. This system will
keep our aircraft 100% connected to our Flight Operations Control Center” said Carlos
Najera, AeroMexico’s Director of Engineering.

ICG’s NxtLink 120A device incorporates a single Iridium transceiver (LBT) for
voice and circuit switched or Internet data as well as a Short Burst Data (SBD) modem
dedicated to ACARS Datalink. The system provides connections to the flight deck
avionics and systems providing global and reliable communications services via the
Iridium network. It supports all Future Air Navigation System (FANS) and Controller Pilot
Data Link Communications (CPDLC) as well as Aircraft Communications Addressing
and Reporting System (ACARS) requirements. The external CIM module (Configuration
Identification Module) provides a facility for storing any installation specific configuration
parameters as well as the Iridium SIM Card(s). This insures that the Iridium SIM card
and associated telephone number is assigned to the airframe making the LRU
replacement, line maintenance and spares management a simple process.
Spectralux Avionics Dlink+ is designed to be flexible and customizable with a
database that can be configured based on individual needs. It includes a Control Display
Unit (CDU), VHF Digital Radio (VDR), Communication Management Unit (CMU) and
aircraft health monitoring in a single LRU.

The world’s highest-altitude longline rescue is performed by Fishtail Air’s newly-delivered no. 2 Eurocopter AS350 helicopter

June 3, 2010

Marignane, France, May 27, 2010
A record-breaking aerial rescue on Nepal’s Mount Annapurna has underscored the performance capabilities of Eurocopter’s AS350 Ecureuil helicopter in extreme conditions – including the most challenging high-altitude operations.
Three Spanish mountain climbers were successfully airlifted by the Fishtail Air AS350 B3 from a 6,900 meter-high location using the “longline” technique, in which a rescuer is suspended at the end of a long rope for insertions/extractions from difficult terrain.
The April 29 operation was part of special rescue flights being performed in a cooperative effort involving Fishtail Air, a charter helicopter company based at Kathmandu, Nepal, and Switzerland’s Air Zermatt.
This mission utilized Fishtail Air’s second AS350 B3, which arrived in Nepal on March 1 to join a helicopter fleet that includes an AS350 B and one AS350 B2, along with the company’s first AS350 B3.
Air Zermatt’s Capt. Daniel Aufdenblatten performed the rescue, while Swiss Mountain Guide Richard Lenner was deployed as a human sling to lift the stranded climbers on the longline – evacuating them one-by-one to a base camp at an altitude of 4,000 meters. The climbers had been stranded 36 hours on Mount Annapurna.
In addition to this difficult operation, Fishtail Air’s newest AS350 B3 also rescued four Korean climbers and three Nepalese Sherpas on April 26 from Nepal’s Mount Manaslu, extracting them at an altitude of approximately 6,500 meters. Piloting the helicopter was Fishtail Capt. Sabin Basnyat, who was joined by Air Zermatt’s Daniel Aufdenblatten and Richi Lehner. Mount Manaslu is the world’s eighth highest mountain, while Mount Annapurna is the tenth highest.
“These rescues are tributes to the crews’ professionalism, as well as the capability of our AS350 Ecureuil and the AS550 Fennec military version to deliver performance and reliability in the most extreme conditions,” said Eurocopter Group President and CEO Lutz Bertling.
