PORTLAND, OR (October 5, 2011) – FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announces the introduction of the latest in handheld radiation detection technology. The nanoRaider™ spectroscopic personal radiation detector (SPRD) is a pager-sized device with full detection and identification capabilities.
The nanoRaider provides the highest detector resolution available in a pager-sized device with sensitivity and identification capabilities not previously available in an SPRD. The nanoRaider uses the same easy to navigate interface customers have come to know from the identiFINDER® as well as One Touch Reachback™ capability for immediate reporting. By incorporating identification capabilities, the nanoRaider can virtually eliminate the false alarm and false positives that are common to non-identifying pagers.
“Ease of use is a key component in all FLIR handheld radiation monitors,” said Bill Sundermeier, president of FLIR Government Systems. “With the nanoRaider, FLIR has enabled precise identification capabilities never before seen in a spectroscopic pager.”
Hands-on demonstrations of the nanoRaider will be provided at AUSA Annual in Washington DC, October 10-12, the Nuclear Science Symposium in Valencia, Spain, October 23-29, and at CBRNe Convergence in Istanbul, Turkey, November 1-3.
