PR – A Delegation of US hi-tech & Tech. Bloggers, guest of MFA, Began Their Tour in Israel at IAI

A delegation of leading US bloggers in the areas of technology, innovation and hi-tech began yesterday their tour in Israel with a visit to Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to view IAI’s latest advanced technologies.

The delegation, which will stay in Israel for a week, was invited by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Israeli consulate in New York to strengthen ties and expose the visitors to Israel’s achievements and capabilities as a leading-edge technologically sophisticated country in both innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the visit to IAI, the delegation’s members were presented with IAI’s advanced capabilities in the development and production of satellites and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) including a robotic butterfly – IAI’s micro UAS. The project’s engineers conducted a demonstration flight of the robotic butterfly, which is only 20 cm long, weighs a mere 12 grams, and is designed to fly in confined spaces.

Daniel Zonshine, director of MFA’s Public Affairs department: “The MFA is in the middle of a process intended to position Israel as an inherently innovative country. Naturally we thought of IAI as a leading organization which epitomizes these qualities”.
