VIRB, the first true HD 1080p action camera offers the aviation market new capabilities brought on by several new accessories. VIRB Elite features a unique 1.4-inch Chroma™ color display, which makes setup and playback simple and ensures pilots capture the in-flight footage they desire. VIRB Elite offers up to three hours of HD video to be recorded on a single charge and offers built-in GPS, WiFi and ANT+™ connectivity for added functionality with a variety of Garmin products.

Rosoboronexport promotes contacts with Chile
April 2, 2014
At the 18th International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE 2014, which will be held from 25 to 30 March 2014 in Santiago, Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) expects to promote contacts with Chilean partners and continue forming a productive dialogue with Latin American countries, including in the sphere of industrial cooperation.
“Russia’s presence in the Latin American market will expand. We cooperate with virtually all countries in the region and we expect that FIDAE 2014 will open a new phase of cooperation with many countries and, in particular, Chile, – noted Rosoboronexport Deputy Director General Sergey Ladygin, who heads the Company’s delegation at the exhibition. – Some time ago, we held quite productive talks with Chilean partners on helicopter topics, but then a slack period came. I hope that in Santiago we’ll be able to resume negotiations both on this and a number of other promising projects.”
Rosoboronexport’s delegation will hold a series of talks with high-ranking military officials of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and other countries in the region.
Rosoboronexport’s collective action schedule includes talks with several Brazilian companies, where technology cooperation issues will be discussed. Among them are Atlas Taxí Aéro, which is actively operating the Mi-171A1 versatile helicopters, and IAS (Indústria de Aviação e Serviçios), a major industrial company.
It is expected that foreign experts will show increased interest in the Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft, Mi-17-series military transport helicopters, Mi-28NE attack helicopter,
Su-35 multi-role supermaneuverable fighter, and Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft. The issues related to aftermarket support and service center development in the region will also be discussed within aviation topics. All major Russian SAM systems – Pantsir-S1, Buk- M2E, Tor-M2E and Igla-S – show great promise, too.
“Of course, the Latin American market is traditional for Western European and American manufacturers. However, we offer not just military hardware and armaments that are more cost-effective that their counterparts, but also technology cooperation projects together with them. And gradually, through systematic work in a phased manner based on mutual benefit and transparency, we have succeeded in strengthening our presence in the region,” – said Sergey Ladygin.
Russia has been a traditional exhibitor at FIDAE since 1994. The best Russian aircraft, including the Sukhoi and MiG fighters, were repeatedly demonstrated in the skies over Santiago. In 2002, a group of Chilean parliamentarians made a familiarization flight aboard a Mi-17 helicopter directly at the exhibition. The Ka-32 helicopter underwent demonstration flights in 2008 and the unique Be-200 amphibious aircraft in 2010.
