Próximas a finalizar obras de ampliación del terminal de A. Merino B.

En su fase final se encuentran los trabajos de ampliación del terminal de pasajeros del aeropuerto Arturo Merino Benítez de Santiago de Chile, lo que permitirá ampliar su capacidad de atención a 17 millones de pasajeros.
Obras que de no mediar inconvenientes estarían en condiciones de ser entregados al uso público a fines del presente mes.
En forma anexa la firma concesionaria trabaja en mejorar las calles de acercamiento para los servicios de taxis.
Autorizan a PAL para realizar vuelos charter al Brasil

Finalmente y habiendo demostrado cumplir con las regulaciones vigentes, la Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil autorizó a la aerolínea de bandera chilena PAL a renovar sus operaciones, lo que le permitirá realizar vuelos chárter al Brasil con motivo del campeonato mundial de fútbol que se ha iniciado en esa nación.
Con relación a dicha empresa, ha trascendido que vista la actual situación, sus actuales propietarios estarían en negociaciones para venderla al empresario dueño de la también línea aérea chilena ONE.

United Airlines reiniciaría vuelos a Chile

Después de once años desde que por razones económicas United Airlines dejara de volar a Chile, se ha mencionado que la aerolínea contempla reiniciar servicios a este país a contar de diciembre próximo.
Para tal efecto, el transportista deberá solicitar nuevamente los permisos correspondientes de operación entre ambas naciones, lo que se estima no tendrá inconvenientes de parte de las autoridades aeronáuticas, pero que si tomará su tiempo en ser otorgados.

LATAM Airlines Group reports preliminary monthly statistics for May 2014

Santiago, Chile, June 10, 2014– LATAM Airlines Group S.A. and its subsidiaries, (“LATAM Airlines Group” or “the Company”) (NYSE: LFL / IPSA: LAN / Bovespa: LATM33), the leading airline group in Latin America, today reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics for May 2014 compared to May 2013.
System passenger traffic increased by 2.8% while capacity decreased by 1.1%. As a result, the Company’s load factor for the month increased 3.1 points to 82.9%. International passenger traffic accounted for approximately 53% of the month’s total passenger traffic.
Domestic passenger traffic in LATAM Airlines Group´s Spanish speaking operations (Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia) rose 5.5%, while capacity increased by 2.8%. As a consequence, the domestic passenger load factor increased 2.0 points to 77.3%.
Domestic passenger traffic in Brazil increased by 0.6%, while capacity decreased by 1.2%. As a consequence, the domestic Brazil passenger load factor increased 1.4 points to 80.2%.
International passenger traffic increased by 3.4%, while capacity decreased by 2.1%. Accordingly, the international passenger load factor for the month increased 4.6 points to 86.4%. International traffic includes international operations of both LAN and TAM on regional and long haul routes.
Cargo traffic for LATAM decreased 0.7% as capacity decreased 4.4%. As a consequence, the cargo load factor increased 2.3 points to 60.5%. The decrease in cargo capacity is a result of a decreased availability in the bellies of passenger aircraft in addition to a reduced freighter operation. Cargo traffic decrease was driven by weaker imports into Latin America and a decrease in exports in certain products from the region.

Santiago, 10 de junio de 2014– LATAM Airlines Group S.A. y sus filiales (“LATAM Airlines Group” o “la Compañía”) (Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago: LAN / NYSE: LFL / Bovespa: LATM33) el grupo de aerolíneas líder de Latinoamérica en el transporte de pasajeros y carga, dio a conocer hoy las estadísticas preliminares de tráfico para mayo de 2014 comparadas con mayo de 2013.
El tráfico de pasajeros aumentó en un 2,8%, mientras que la capacidad disminuyó en 1,1%. Como resultado, el factor de ocupación para el mes aumentó en 3,1 puntos porcentuales a 82,9%. El tráfico internacional de pasajeros representó aproximadamente un 53% del total del tráfico de pasajeros del mes.
El tráfico doméstico de pasajeros en las operaciones de habla hispana de la compañía (Argentina, Chile, Perú, Ecuador y Colombia) aumentó 5,5%, mientras que la capacidad se incrementó en un 2,8. Como resultado, el factor de ocupación aumentó 2,0 puntos porcentuales a 77,3%.

Citation Sovereign+ business jet receives EASA certification
WICHITA, Kan., June 10, 2014 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company (NYSE:TXT), today announced the completion of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification of Cessna’s Citation Sovereign+ business jet. The Citation Sovereign+ features enhanced climb performance and range, along with Garmin’s G5000 avionics. The aircraft recently completed a successful demonstration tour in Europe, where it debuted last month at the 2014 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Switzerland.
“The Citation Sovereign+ is a great fit for the European market with its non-stop range between London and the United States or the Middle East, and all European city pairs,” said Chris Hearne, vice president, Jets. “We have a number of European customers ready to take delivery of their aircraft, and with EASA certification we can now get the Sovereign+ into the marketplace. Customers are responding positively to the new Garmin avionics and the many other interior and exterior features that allow this aircraft to fly farther, smarter and more comfortably than before.”
Featuring winglets and the new Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D engines providing 5907 pounds of thrust, the Citation Sovereign+ has a range of 3,188 nautical miles (5,904 km), a top speed of 460 knots (529 miles per hour) and a direct climb to 45,000 feet.
The new cockpit in the Sovereign+ is designed around the Cessna Intrinzic Flight Deck powered by Garmin G5000 avionics. An integrated, workload-reducing auto throttle system streamlines the pilots’ tasks. With Cessna’s Clairity cabin management system and redesigned interior options, the Sovereign+ features the longest and most comfortable cabin in its class with a max seating configuration for up to 12 passengers. The Clairity system allows passengers to remain connected in-flight through the integration of smartphones and tablets, along with an airborne Internet system.
