The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced today it welcomes Intercargo, a ground handling company based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, as its most recent Affiliate Member.

Intercargo provides comprehensive airport services striving for superior standards of quality, guaranteeing the sustainability of the Company.  Intercargo´s vision is to be a model company as a service provider, recognized by client air transport organizations and by the end users for its transparent and efficient public administration.

María Cecilia García, the highest authority at Intercargo, stated, “For an Argentinian, state-owned company, it is a great source of pride to comply with all quality standards required by ALTA to become a member of that association.  Our joining ALTA has the firm objective of promoting, defending and supporting the goals of the association, both in terms of the operational safety of airport services and the protection and preservation of the environment, as well as the optimization of work processes.  Upon our incorporation with ALTA we will actively contribute towards the collaboration with its members and the endorsement of other ground handling companies to join the association.”

Eduardo Iglesias, Executive Director of ALTA, commented, “ALTA fully supports the incorporation of Intercargo as its first ground handling Affiliate.   The association and all its current members can derive great benefits from the diversity of activities fulfilled by its peers within the aviation industry.  It provides greater leverage resulting from their exposure to the best practices and learnings from such an assorted range of providers.  I am very glad Intercargo is now part of the ALTA membership.”
