SuperJet International – joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi and Sukhoi Holding, responsible for the sales of the Sukhoi Superjet 100  in the Western markets, along with after-sales support and training – is pleased to provide the results of the first 6 months of operations with the Mexican airline Interjet.

Starting from the Entry Into Service in September 18, 2013 with the first two aircraft and up to March 8, 2014 the five SSJ100s in service with Interjet have shown intensive operations, accumulating over 4.000 flight hours and over 3.800 flight cycles during their commercial operations.

Throughout this period the aircraft experienced not even one cancellation and confirmed a dispatch reliability of 99% (98,95%), thanks also to an efficient and reliable after-sales solution developed by SuperJet International with a modular and flexible array of services, capable of providing customers with 24/7 support for spares, tooling and technical queries.

“We are extremely proud of the Superjet’s performance – states Mr. Nazario Cauceglia, Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International – our Customer Services’ organization is working hard and doing well to guarantee the maximum reliability. Not only we are flying, but we are flying well. In the second half of 2013 we also made significant improvements in the supply and delivery chain. Our goal now is to deliver 11 aircraft to Interjet by the end of the year”.

The SSJ100 aircraft are operated from Mexico City to various Mexican destinations: Torreon, Aguascalientes, Campeche, Minatitlan, Manzanillo, Zacatecas, Mazatlan, La Paz, Reynosa and Palenque. The longest flight performed is Mazatlan-Mexico City (1H 43’), while the shortest one is Mexico City- Aguascalientes (0 H 42’). The maximum utilization in a day was over 11 flight hours.

“This aircraft is the perfect choice for Interjet airline – says Jose Luis Garza, Chief Executive Officer of Interjet – it provides greater comfort than other aircraft in the regional market as well as outstanding fuel consumption and improved maintenance costs. The SSJ100 great performance will allow us to start the first flights across the United States border on longer routes soon”.

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in fact, provided Interjet with the authorization to fly the SSJ100 from Mexico to North America. With 6 SSJ100 aircraft in its fleet, Interjet is currently planning to introduce the new regional jet on new routes to the USA.
