FORT WORTH, TEXAS (August 11, 2014) – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), has announced it will feature the Bell 407GX, Bell 429WLG and the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X™ at the 11th annual Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE) in São Paulo, Brazil August 12-14. Bell Helicopter will also be joined by TAM Aviação Executiva, its independent representative in the region. Bell Helicopter will be located at chalet 5110.
“LABACE gives us a great opportunity to engage the business aviation community in both Brazil and throughout Latin America,” said Jay Ortiz, Bell Helicopter’s vice president of commercial business in Latin America. “We have already seen a great response to the Bell 407GX and Bell 429 with more than 75 combined new models in operation to date and the corporate market segment is our overall second largest mission type operated by our Latin American customers.”
Bell Helicopter first entered the Latin America market more than 60 years ago, and today the region has a fleet size of more than 1,670 aircraft. In the last two years, more Bell helicopters were sold in Latin America than in any global region besides North America.
“The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X has been quickly embraced in Latin America since we first brought the aircraft mockup to the region at FIDAE 2014 earlier this year,” said Ortiz. “We’ve been carefully listening to the needs of our customers throughout the world and have already signed more than 50 purchase agreements for future Jet Ranger X deliveries in the region, which accounts for a quarter of the total purchase agreements signed worldwide.”
The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X is the newest member of the Bell Helicopter family. It is a customer-driven design that blends proven systems with advanced technology and a sleek, modern look. The Bell 505 places safety, performance and affordability at its forefront. The Garmin G1000H Integrated Avionics Suite provides pilots critical flight information at a glance to maximize situational awareness. Pilot workload is further reduced by the Turbomeca Arrius 2R engine with dual channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). The Bell 505 features a high inertia rotor system delivering superior auto rotation capabilities. With the ideal combination of speed, range and useful load, the Jet Ranger X is designed to deliver best-in-class performance.

The Bell 407GX delivers power and speed with a smooth, quiet ride and a spacious cabin that accommodates six passengers. The aircraft also features the fully-integrated Garmin G1000HTM flight deck, providing critical flight information at a glance for greater situational awareness and increased safety. The Bell 407GX flight deck’s high resolution LCD screens host primary flight and multi-function display information, including Helicopter Terrain Awareness Warning System, Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology™, Traffic Information Systems and more. The 407GX also features a tail rotor camera, allowing the pilot a clear view of the tail during take-offs and landings.

The Bell 429WLG can land in a larger number of environments and conditions, providing operators of all mission profiles additional flexibility. Its taxiing capability is ideal for both repositioning in limited spaces and situations that require ground taxi, such as positioning closer to fixed-base operators. These benefits mean that both flight crews and passengers can save time and effort getting where they need to go. The Bell 429WLG also has reduced drag due to the loss of skids and an increased cruise speed. The Bell 429 is approved to operate at an increased gross weight of 7,500 pounds (3,402 kilograms) in several Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela. The Bell 429WLG is also approved for standard 7,000 lb. gross weight operations as well as the additional 500 lb. weight increase in both Canada and Brazil, with other certifications currently in work.

In addition to providing customers with the products they want and need, Bell Helicopter remains focused on providing world-class support and service to its Latin America customer base. Currently, there are 19 independent representatives and distributors in the region and continues to grow its presence in Latin America. The company’s focus on its customers is a key differentiator from the competition, as evidenced by Bell Helicopter’s consistent number one ranking in Pro Pilot’s service and support rankings for the 20th consecutive year. Bell Helicopter was also recently ranked number one for the ninth consecutive year in Aviation International News annual product support survey.
