Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company has tapped veteran pilot and aviation sales executive Stan “Skip” Feher to represent the high performance single engine airplane manufacturer as regional sales director in the Pacific Northwest.  An Air Transport Pilot (ATP) and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) with more than 5,000 hours of flight experience, Feher is also listed as the inventor of record on the U.S. patent for Sundstrand’s Airborne Flight Information System (AFIS), which has been installed on hundreds of business jets.  In addition, he has experience as a Director of Flight Operations, an Airline Pilot, and a Charter Pilot who flew tours with Rock ‘N Roll legends Fleetwood Mac, the Beach Boys, and John Denver on his resume.
“Skip has not only had a colorful and exciting career in aviation, but a very diverse one.  His experiences flight instructing, directing flight operations, serving as an FAA-designated ATP Type Rating Examiner, and as an airline pilot for Sierra Pacific Airlines have given him a rich background that has proven to be valuable in his past sales roles as well.  We are extremely pleased to have him represent Mooney in the states of Washington and Oregon,” said Rick Neely, Senior Director of Sales.
Mr. Feher is a graduate of Pacific Western University in Encino, California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Administration. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate for both singe and multi-engine aircraft, with type ratings in the Learjet 20 and 30 series and Jet Commander/Westwind Models 1121, 1123, and 1124.  Additionally, he is a certified flight instructor for both single and multi-engine aircraft, and instruments.  After beginning his aviation career as a flight instructor and then a chief pilot, he logged numerous hours flying for Sierra Pacific and as a charter pilot and flew the aforementioned tours with major rock bands and aviation-enthusiast/recording star John Denver.
In 1980, he transitioned into sales with Global Systems, a California-based navigation systems manufacturer that was eventually acquired by Sundstrand Data Control and then AlliedSignal.  He spent 16 years there, progressing through the sales ranks as a product representative, regional sales manager, product manager, national sales manager, OEM sales manager and Air Transport account manager.  In 1996, he became American Sales Manager for Airshow, Inc. in Tustin, California, moving up to General Manager of Communication Services and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development prior to the company’s acquisition by Rockwell Collins, Inc. in 2002.  Immediately prior to joining Mooney, he served as a principal account manager for Rockwell Collins for the Northwest Region and was the U.S. team leader for all VIP cabin sales pursuits.
In his new role with Mooney, he will be headquartered in Ravensdale, Washington.  He can be reached by calling 425-677-5335 or via e-mail at sfeher@mooney.com.
