FLIR Systems Announces Sea Star SAFIRE III Selected by Brazilian Navy

PORTLAND, OR, November 3, 2008 — FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has been awarded a multi year contract from the Brazilian Navy for six Sea Star SAFIRE® III infrared multi-sensor surveillance systems along with a provision for a total of 12 systems, training and other services. These systems will be installed on AgustaWestland Super Lynx helicopters for use in maritime patrol and fleet security missions.

The value of the contract has been mandated as confidential per the requirements of the Brazilian Ministry of Defense.
