The Toluca, Mexico-based LCC expects to launch US service in the fourth quarter of 2009. Volaris CEO, Enrique Beltranena, said the service will be aligned with southwest, its new codeshare partner, and “It is going to be paired to the most dense airports that Southwest is utilizing and the ones with wide connectivity for both US and Mexicans in the region”. Privately held Volaris, launched in March 2006, operates nineteen A319-100s, and two A320-200s on 39 routes to 23 Mexican cities.
