Icejet jets in for International Luxury Travel Market

Icejet, the expanding private jet operator, is making its debut at the annual International Travel Market in Cannes in December (Stand No M128) and has teamed with organisers, Reed Travel Exhibitions, to fly in top buyers of luxury travel from the corporate, entertainment and finance sectors.
Icejet Managing Director and Captain Jon Ingi Jonsson will be flying the group aboard one of the company’s 14-seat VIP configured Dornier 328 jets direct to Cannes Mandelieu from Farnborough Airport, UK, on the morning of Tuesday, 9th December. On arrival they will be greeted by a fleet of stunning red Ferraris, courtesy of luxury travel company Red Travel.
ILTM is the only business to business event dedicated to showcasing top-end travel suppliers to specialist luxury travel trade buyers from around the globe through an unrivalled pre-scheduled appointment system. Icejet, which has five luxury jets, including one in a 19-seat corporate shuttle layout, sees the Show as an ideal opportunity to promote its high quality services and make new contacts as it looks to expand its offering into central Europe.
“Timing wise, this show is great for us,” said Jonsson. “We are actively exploring new bases for one or two of our aircraft and plan to add more aircraft to our fleet with a move into third party management early next year.” Icejet was recently at the MEBA business aviation show in Dubai, and Russia is now firmly in its sights with plans to base an aircraft in Moscow.
Jonsson says: “The Dornier 328 fills a niche in the Russian market as it is a good alternative to the current types currently available there. The 14 seat Envoy can carry a large group in comfort, and has a 750kg cargo hold with enough space for all their luggage, ski gear or golf clubs. At a more cost effective price than a Global Express or Challenger it is ideal for the short haul leisure market.” The plan is to sell the charters through Russian brokers, representing Icejet.
Currently, Icejet has two 328s based in London Southend, UK – one in 14-seat VIP layout, plus its increasingly popular 19 seat Corporate Shuttle. Two of its Dornier 328 jets are fitted with long range fuel tanks, giving a 2,000 nm range, enabling such direct sectors London-Moscow and London-Palma, Mallorca.
At ILTM, Icejet is sharing its stand with UK-based charter broker Air Charter Travel, which is marking its fourth year at the Show. Air Charter will be promoting its expertise in the charter of large (transatlantic) business jets as well as luxury helicopters.
Showcasing a unique luxury product portfolio
Icejet is part of the Nordic Partners Investment Group and is part of its luxury product portfolio. Along with Icejet, the group also looks after a brand new 110ft luxury yacht D’Angleterre which is available for charter in the eastern Mediterranean from next summer. The super yacht takes its name from the group’s luxury hotel in Copenhagen, the D’Angleterre, which is also exhibiting at ILTM on the Leading Hotels of the World stand.
