Copa Holdings reports net income of $152.2 million in 2008

Panama’s “model airline” has reported net income of $152.2 million in 2008 following a record $51.9 million in the fourth quarter, compared to $35.5 million in the same quarter of 2007. The $152.2 million net income for the year compares to $161.8 million in 2007. Most importantly, the airline reported operating income of $224 million in 2008 with an operating margin of 17.4%, one of the best, if not the best, in the airline industry.
