Nettie R. Johnson Named Corporate Vice President of Lockheed Martin Worldwide Media Relations

BETHESDA, Md., April 13 /PRNewswire/ — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) today named Nettie R. Johnson as corporate vice president of worldwide media relations, effective April 27. In this role, Johnson will serve as chief spokesperson for the corporation and direct all media relations activities.

“With her extensive background and breadth of knowledge, Nettie Johnson brings a unique combination of strategic communication skills and leadership needed to speak for our global security business with a clear, honest voice to customers, employees, stockholders and journalists,” said Ron Rand, senior vice president of Lockheed Martin communications. “In this important position, Nettie will support our thousands of programs and 146,000 employees both domestically and abroad.”

Currently, Johnson is the director of communications for Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support in Orlando, Fla. Johnson joined the company in September 1998 as media relations manager of Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control, also in Orlando. Before joining Lockheed Martin, Johnson served 20 years on active duty as a U.S. Navy public affairs officer.

Johnson serves on several boards of directors in Central Florida, including the Orange County Schools Foundation, Kids House of Seminole County and INROADS.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., and a master’s degree in Communications from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
