LAN reports March traffic up 7.6% with year-to-date up 8.9%

The Chilean-based “model airline” reported RPMs up 7.6% system-wide in March, with domestic traffic in Chile, Argentina and Peru up 25.8%. Passengers boarded were up 14.9% in the month with domestic up 23.9% and international up 4.5%. Year-to-date passenger traffic was up 18.4% with domestic up 28.9%. The “model airline” continues to expand its domestic traffic as it launches domestic service in Ecuador and looks at starting passenger service in Colombia in addition to its existing all-cargo operations in Colombia and Brazil.
