Lynn, Mass. – June 2, 2009 – Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has
awarded GE Aviation a contract to overhaul up to 757 T700-401/401C
engines, cold section modules and power turbine modules for the SH-60
helicopter over the next five years. The overhauls will be performed at
GE’s Engine Services operation in Strother, Kansas.

The initial year of the fixed-price contract covers 97 engines/modules
and is valued at $11,361,435. Terms of the contract provide for up to
four additional option years and, if completely exercised, the estimated
total value could top $100 million.

“We understand the significant role the T700 engine serves in our
military,” said GE Strategic Customer Program Leader Mike Talbert.
“We’re committed to providing comprehensive and timely overhauls that
will ensure ongoing fleet readiness and superiority.”

and AH-1Z helicopters.

GE’s successful T700/CT7 family of turboprop and turboshaft engines
currently powers 25 types of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft in
service with more than 130 customers in more than 50 countries.
