APU and Honeywell’s HTF7500E Engine Provide High Performance, Fuel Efficient Power Systems

EBACE, GENEVA, May 20, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announced today that it has been chosen to supply its 36-150 auxiliary power unit (APU) for the new Embraer MSJ and MLJ business aircraft.

In April Honeywell also announced its selection by Embraer to provide the HTF7500E turbofan propulsion system family for the MSJ and MLJ aircraft. The 36-150 APU order delivers another high performance, fuel saving power system to Embraer’s newest business aircraft.

“Honeywell’s 36-150 ported shroud APU has a high flow, high efficiency compressor that provides on-wing reliability, efficient main engine starting and high altitude electrical power capacity,” said Rob Wilson, President, Business and General Aviation. “Additionally, the 36-150 also reduces nuisance ramp noise by eliminating surge valve bleed flow on the ground. Passengers will board the aircraft in quiet comfort.”

The 36-150 APU, mated with an air-cycle air conditioning system, provides high pneumatic performance to minimize aircraft preflight cooling and heating time, further refining a comfortable passenger experience. Flight crews will especially enjoy the comfort of preflight preparations in a comfortable cabin, ventilated by the Honeywell 36-150.

In addition to providing pneumatic power, the APU drives a high-output electrical generator to power cockpit and cabin galley systems, independent of main-engine or ground-power operation. Convenient, comfortable operation is possible from virtually any location in the world – even those with limited services.

The 36-150 APU family is one of the world’s most trusted auxiliary power units and can be found on many business jets in production today. It provides the perfect complement to start Honeywell’s HTF7500E main engines.

The HTF7500E turbofan propulsion system includes the engine, nacelle, and thrust reverser. By providing quick engine starts, the 36-150 APU reduces main engine wear associated with starting saving operators maintenance costs.

Honeywell’s next generation engine announced in April for the MSJ and MLJ aircraft reduces NOx emissions substantially below current ICAO levels while delivering best-in-class fuel economy.
