PORTLAND, OR, — July 25th, 2008– Precision Conversions, LLC and Leth & Associates proudly announce that the Federal Aviation Administration has approved a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a Maximum Zero Fuel Weight (MZFW) increase on the Precision Conversions 757-200PCF freighter.  The new weight upgrade STC (ST01857SE), developed by Leth & Associates, approves MZFW increase on the Precision Conversions passenger-to-freighter conversion STC (ST01529SE).  The weight upgrade allows for a MZFW increase to 196,000 lbs. (88,904 kg).  In total, the weight upgrade STC allows for an additional 8,000 lbs (3,628 kg) increase in payload.  The STC is currently applicable to Rolls-Royce powered 757-200s with manufacturer line number 210 and higher.

Ole Leth, Leth & Associates President said, “We began this intensive engineering effort over two years ago and are pleased that we have been able to achieve a significant weight increase on the 757-200PCF freighter.” He went on to say, “We expect to have the STC amendment reflecting approval for Pratt & Whitney powered aircraft soon.”

Steven Thomas, Precision Conversions President stated, “In achieving the STC, Leth has further contributed in differentiating the Precision PCF from all other 757 conversions. We expect this increased pay load option will further demonstrate our commitment to making the PCF the best value in the medium narrow body market today and in the future.”

The first aircraft to receive the weight upgrade is the DHL/European Air Transport owned 757-200PCF (S/N 27598).

Brian McCarthy, Precision Conversions Vice President of Marketing and Sales said, “This STC combination is a significant benefit to high density cargo operators.”  He added, “With record high fuel prices causing economic pressures on all sides, our weight upgraded conversion allows operators to fully capitalize on their revenue generating ability by using the most flight efficient, full 15 pallet position 757-200PCF freighter.”

Currently, there are nineteen 757-200PCF conversions being operated around the world with eight different cargo carriers.  Precision Conversions expects that the majority of current and future customers will want the weight upgraded version of the 757-200PCF.
