New sponsorships and institutional support

The Association of Argentine Airport Management Professionals (ATEGA) announced that six companies have confirmed their sponsorship of Airport Show Argentina – 1st National Airports Congress, opening in Buenos Aires on November 29, 2011.

Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, which operates 33 airports nation-wide, has confirmed its support as a Diamond Sponsor. Also, other companies have been confirmed as Silver Sponsors including London Supply (operator of three airports in Patagonia), Grupo Sancor Seguros (insurance) and Securitas (private security). Cleaning machinery manufacturer Catanese and private security services provider Legal Security have become sponsors in the Small and Medium-Sized Businesses category.

Airport Show Argentina – 1st National Airports Congress has the support of government bodies and business, including the Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services Ministry; the Tourism Ministry, the Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), the Airports Authority (ORSNA), the Airports Police Agency (PSA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Air Transport Chamber (JURCA) among others.

More than 300 airport executives and officials from Argentina and neighbouring countries are expected to gather for the two-day meeting, co-organized by ATEGA and Reed Exhibitions Argentina under the motto “The Airport ─ A Strategic Project”.

Keynote speakers and moderators confirmed for the congress to date include:

  • Dr. Manuel Baladrón – President, Argentine Airports Authority (ORSNA);
  • Dr. Jorge Máquez – Air Transport Director, Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC);
  • Dr. Luis Leppen – President, Air Transport Facilitation Inter-Ministerial Committee (Comisión FAL);
  • Dr. Salvador Julio Postiglioni – National Director, Airport Police Agency (PSA);
  • Dr. Gustavo Lepetti – Director, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000;
  • Ing. Eduardo Lucesole – Head of the Environmental Department (ORSNA);
  • Lic. Néstor Legnani – Head of the Higher School of Airport Security Studies (ISSA);
  • Lic. Juan Pablo Picasso – Financial Comptroller (ORSNA).

ATEGA President Enrique A. Fabrizio, who co-chairs the Congress’s Executive Committee, said the event “has become a must for all stakeholders in the growing airport community. A large variety of stakeholders and functions interact in airport activity. These players needed a meeting point where they could exchange ideas, opinion and technical skills and discuss an airport model for the future”.

Reed Exhibition Argentina Marketing & Operations Director Walter Ivitz, for his part, said congress “has come to fill a void and Argentina will now be in a position to show to the world its airport management expertise.
