TAM Receives Its First 777-300

The first TAM Boeing 777-32WER (from a total of 8 ordered – 4 to be delivered in 2008 plus 4 in 2012) – registration PT-MUA, series 37664 – landed at São Paulo / Guarulhos international airport on August, 18th. The new aircraft, configured with 365 seats with a 3-class cabin, will operates from Sao Paulo to Frankfurt and London effective october. On August 22nd, the 777 performed some test and certification flights for ANAC (brazilian civil aviation agency). After, it will begin regular flights from Sao Paulo to Recife and Sao Paulo to Santiago de Chile until the arrival of the 2nd aircraft, when both will start flights to Frankfurt.
With the arrival of the first 777, TAM has now a fleet composed by 117 aircraft (17 A319, 76 A320, 3 A321, 12 A330-200, 2 A340-500, 1 B777-300ER, 2 B767-300 e 3 MD-11. All MD-11 will be returned to lessors after the arrival of the other 3 777. TAM will receive two new A330-200 in the 4th quarter of 2008.
